Who I am, where I cover....
My name is Colin and after taking a few years out of plastering to travel abroad, I decided to start up my own business in THE Cheltenham/Gloucester area and have been busy ever since. I aim to deliver the highest quality results and finishes in my customers' homes and will go the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction. I am reliable, clean, tidy, friendly and above all make sure to carry out the work to a truly high standard to ensure my customers get their money's worth

Despite being a one-man band, I will happily take on large scale plastering jobs as long as the customer is happy that the job might take longer than it might with gangs of 2 or more people.

Replastering / Reskimming
Sometimes when you take off the wallpaper or tiles the walls left behind are just in a terrible state. Replastering or reskimming basically freshens up what is already there. A facelift if you will. Some of the existing wall might crumble away too and that's no problem as I will use a suitable undercoat plaster before applying a fresh finish so it can be repainted.
If the walls have hundreds of little hairline cracks, a mesh material would be used to stop them appearing in the future
I will of course skim over fresh plaserboard too!
Artex cover-up
This is something I really enjoy doing and I am increasingly being asked to get rid of it in people's homes. Artex was popular some time ago but now people are just desperate to do away with it. There are 2 options here - overboarding with new plasterboard, which is more expensive but it ensures the previous artex doesn't 'fail'. The second is to replaster. This is the cheaper options and I am yet to see old artex fail. But it can depending on the surface underneath it and how it might have been prepared or just not withstood the test of time. Either way, I can come and help you reach a decision. I can also advise on getting artex tested for asbestos
Dot / dab plasterboard
This is a method of drylining boards to suitable backgrounds as a quicker and often cheapr alternative to traditional backing plasters.
Sometimes the plaster on the walls is blown and will need to be hacked off leaving a bare wall that needs to be suitably prepared before it can be skimmed. The boards are attached by dabbing plaster adhesive and levelled and plumbed to leave a suitable background for skimming
Patch repairs
Sometimes full walls or ceilngs may not need to be completely redone. Perhaps the wall has been knocked, maybe a radiator needs to be placed elsewhere. No matter what mess is left behind, a patch might be all that is required rather than having the full area done.
